Stackstone is our stacked stone panelling, also known as ledgestone — in natural quartzite, slate, limestone and marble, engineered for easy, reliable application in split-face, rock-face and broken-face finishes.
Each colour is supplied as flats with matching corners, cut from the same stone.

Is Stackstone the same as ledgestone?
Yes. Stacked stone panels are also called ledgestone: courses of natural stone set into a panel.
How thick is a panel?
1 to 3 cm, depending on the colour. Most colours are 1 to 2 cm. Each product page lists its own thickness.
Are corners supplied?
Yes. Each colour has matching corner pieces, cut from the same stone.
Inside or outside?
Both: interior feature walls, and exterior walls, house bases and columns. For a freeze-thaw climate, ask us to confirm the colour before you order.
What do split face, rock face and broken face mean?
Split face is stone split along its natural bed, so the face is layered and textured. Rock face is dressed to a raised profile with chiselled edges. Broken face is broken rather than sawn, so the face is rougher and irregular.
How is it installed?
On a clean, dry, open-pored surface. Inside, on gypsum drywall or exterior-grade plywood up to 3 m high, and on cement board above that. Outside, straight onto brick, block, cured concrete or cement board. A polymer-modified mortar is used; for commercial work, and outside above 3 m, with a latex additive.
