Asked often.
Is this real stone?
Yes. Each sheet is a thin layer of natural stone taken from the block and laid on a fibreglass backing. It is not cast or printed.
How thick is a sheet?
About 2 mm on average. The sheet is built in layers: the stone, an adhesive, a fibreglass sheet and a black backing.
How much does it weigh?
1.4 to 1.75 kg per m².
How far does a sheet bend?
A sheet bends enough to wrap a column or follow a curved wall. How tight a curve it takes depends on the stone and the format, so tell us the radius and we will confirm before you order.
What is the difference between the formats?
Dry back has no adhesive on the back and is fixed with adhesive on site. Peel and stick comes with its own adhesive on the back. Ultra slim is a thinner, lighter sheet for tighter curves. FR grade is the fire-rated sheet; test information is available on request.
What sizes are available?
61 × 122 cm and 122 × 244 cm in every colour. Some colours also come in 122 × 275 cm and 122 × 305 cm; each product page lists its own sizes. Larger sheets are made to order.
What can it be fixed to?
Walls, ceilings, woodwork, counter tops and cabinets. The surface must be clean, dry and sound. Smooth, polished or non-porous surfaces need preparing first.
Inside only, or outside too?
Both. Slimline is supplied for interior and exterior use.
Is it made as a 3D panel too?
Yes. Every Slimline colour can be made as a 3D Slimline Panel.
