What is stone cladding?
A layer of natural stone fixed to the outside of a building. The structure behind it carries the load, so the stone can be far thinner than a solid stone wall.
Adhered, clip system or masonry?
Adhered cladding is bonded to the wall with mortar or adhesive and suits thinner stone. A clip system hangs the stone on fixings with a gap behind it. Traditional masonry sets thicker stone in mortar on its own footing.
What thickness do you supply?
Cladding is cut to the project, so the thickness follows the fixing method and the size of each piece. Tell us both and we will confirm.
Can it be used in a freeze-thaw climate?
Each stone's page says whether that stone is freeze/thaw safe.
