Questions
Asked often.
What is tumbled limestone?
Limestone turned in a drum with abrasive until the edges and the surface soften, so a new floor has the worn look of an old one.
How thick are the tiles?
Most are 2.5 cm calibrated, or 2 to 4 cm natural on both faces. A few are thinner, from 1.4 to 1.8 cm. Each product page lists its own thickness.
Should limestone be sealed?
Yes. Limestone is porous, so a penetrating sealer is applied after laying and renewed from time to time.
How do I clean it?
Sweep or vacuum, then wash with a pH-neutral cleaner made for natural stone. Never use acid, vinegar or an abrasive cleaner: limestone etches.
